Daddy pushes the scooter across the room, JT crawls over to it - gets on knees, holds on to seat of scooter with one hand and crawls with the other (on knees)… bringing the scooter back to Daddy… it was too cute. Daddy then flips scooter over so they can “work on it” (in other words - JT can fulfill his obsession with wheels!!).

It has been two weeks since we last blogged but it has been hectic in our household the whole time. Kim was sick, JT was sick and I was sick. Then my ears started messing up and to make a long, disgusting story short: we are back.
We spent this past weekend back home in Tennessee. We visited with Pap and Mammy. We got there late Friday night so we got to sleep in till about 7:00 AM the next morning. Mammy and Pap aren’t use to a little boy that is up before the chickens were. So they got a full dose of JT in the morning. He went with his Pap to feed the chickens and horses. He liked the chickens but I think the horses kind of intemidated him a little. We ended up going to the Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville. Oh boy, let’s just say that JT isn’t scared of to much. His mama wanted him to ride a roller coaster but his daddy didn’t want him on it. So mammy grabs JT hands him to Pap and they get on the roller coaster before anything else is said. That little feller took to it like ducks to water. Then JT got to ride the merry go-round which he was all excited about. It was awful hot so we went inside for a little while and looked at hordiculture and then we moved to chickens. I don’t think Kim had seen so many chickens but JT sat in his stroller with eyes as big as saucers. Then we went and looked at Brahma’s bulls and then to GOATS!!! JT got licked by goats and he petted them and giggled and had a big time with them goats. Trying to figure how much land we need to start raising them:) We ended up leaving the goats to go to rodeo. It wasn’t that exciting for JT. He was interested in getting back to the rides!!! So we go back to the midway and the only rides that they will let him on is the roller coaster and the merry-go-round. So Daddy will take him this time. Well we got the front car and i set him in his seat and i sat next to him. JT started squilling and screaming and getting all excited. Well, we started up the hill and he was still all excited and screaming then we went down and JT was having fun until the little girls behind us started screaming and that started scaring him. But that little bugger loved the roller coaster at only 8 months old. Pap took him on the merry-go-round and he kept trying to climb the pole to get to the crank at the top and being a Siler he wanted to figure out how that thing works. So Pap had to wrestle with him. After we finished with that, we were ready to call it a day for him and us. The next morning Kim and I kind of told a white lie. We told mammy and pap that JT could go to Church with them because we were going to visit “friends”. Ben and Leia came down to visit with us. We waited for Mammy and Pap to leave before we told Ben and Leia the truth. The truth was we were going to suprise mammy and pap at church with our visit. So we told Ben if he wanted to go that he needed to go up to his house and get dressed and get back in 5 minutes. Would you know it, he did it. Leia missed the bus but Ben was on top of it. So we suprised mammy and pap with our presence at church as well as all of JT’s Great-Uncles. Which JT gets passed like a joint at a dead-head concert. Maybe that is a bad analogy considering this is church and the implications of sacriledge. Anyway, you get the idea. Of course, he goes to my Uncle Tom which according to my dad is Darth Vader of star wars renown. Something about him having the power of the dark-side. Well he takes JT and JT had been fighting sleep until now. Uncle Tom gets him and BAM his out. Dad looks at me and whispers, “He is transfering, JT, some of the power from the darkside”. Like a good Baptist, JT slept through the whole service. We all went to eat and had a good time and a good visit with family.
To the excerpt, which some people don’t understand. My dad told me later that they checked JT to see if he is the incarnate of Marshal Siler. They test him by saying some of Papa’s famous sayings and things that only Papa or people close to Papa would know. “Whadyasay!!!” was one, “Maul your damn head off” was another and the all-time goody ” get off and lay down somewhere”. None of these words phazed JT but it may just be papa’s way to reacting by not reacting. Anyway, he looks like papa and is just as onry. That temper is something too. His mama has one and daddy does so he gets it honest from both sides. Ladies and gentlemen be it known that little feller has got a bad temper. Do something to cross him, i dare ya? If he could get his hands on you, he would, “maul your damn head off”. Keep an eye out for him
