Puppy Paws and School Days
It’s been a big week so far for JT. FIRST - he got a new puppy this past weekend. We were on our regular Saturday morning visit to the Jasper Farmer’s Market and a small family had a box of puppies they were giving away for free. We tried our hardest to not make eye contact. Lucky for puppy we had Gramma with us. We agreed JT could have the puppy if she helped train it (she’s good at training - she trained Licorice, our 9yr old black lab).We named her Jasper. She’s really cute (what puppy isn’t?!?!).
We’re not quite sure what breed she is - she’s all mutt but sorta looks like a Golden Retriever pup - though we think she may have some Chow in her. So far we know she’s a breed that can stand being carried upside down by her back legs, pulled by the tail, sat on, chased, stepped on, dropped intentionally in a cold child’s pool, dumped through the window on the door, put into crate to go nite-nite 400x’s in 20min, pushed in a child’s wheel barrow, forced to stay in the dump truck through wild and reckless driving, lived through many attempts to put her on the back seat of the tricycle for a ride, and sought after, by the name “MuPuppees - where MuPupees? where is she?” the moment one little boy opens his eyes every morning. It’s amazing how quickly he became attached to this dog. Which in the end, makes it all worth it.
JT also started back to daycare this week - he seems to be getting along really well there. He’s lucky, right now there are very few kids at the daycare (since the schoolwas JUST built) so over the next few weeks until their enrollment is up he gets lots of attention. We all know how much JT LOVES attention.
The school is pretty impressive; he seems to like it there - today he even had Daddy chasing him through the hallways rather than heading straight for the door to leave - we had to coax him out.
Barry’s already ham-boning with all the women that work there. It’s pretty funny - I guess it’s rare now-a-days for a father to be so involved with what’s going on. I have to admit - i like it a lot!
JT gets a daily report from school - i’m going to post the comments here fairly often - some are rather funny - some just for prosterity’s sake (this is his “babybook” btw so make lots of comments!!!).
We’re getting into a routine again - the new daycare DEFINITELY saves us on travel time. Which is the whole reason we changed in the first place.
6am - leave house
6:30am - arrive at JT’s school
7:30am - arrive at work
4:30pm - leave work (if we can get out)
5:50pm - pick up JT
6:00 to 7:00pm - YMCA for workout
8:30pm - JT’s bedtime
rinse - wash - repeat
Today is only Wednesday and we’ve have already had to sign TWO incident reports for JT. I’m not sure how many repots it will take before they realize JT’s head is as hard as they come; and his bumping it, falling on it, hitting it, etc will be a daily event for him and no report is necessary.
